This picture definitely goes under the category of "What the @#$% is THAT!?!"  It's a Giant Grey Rabbit, a breed raised in Germany.  It weighs in at 35 pounds!

Here's the first cut at the debate coverage and other issues.  Particularly notable are the stories about McCain's gambling & lobbying ties, the Tina Fey impersonation, and John Cole's comment about the emerging narrative concerning the debate.  Happy reading ...  and viewing this time!

WHAT A WEEK!  This edition of News Nuggets only captures a few of the gems from the last several days -- most of these relate to McCain's end-of-the-week DC bailout stunt and especially Sarah Palin's CBS interview.  Not much here on the debate from last night yet.  Look for those in an upcoming Note.  Concerning the first item up from the National Enquirer, some may dismiss this story given the source -- but it is my experience that WHEN IT COMES TO STORIES ABOUT POLITICAL FIGURES, the Enquirer has a pretty good track record.  John Edwards and Gary Hart can atest.

What a week!  The Wall Street mess dominated -- and the top couple of stories below capture well how bad things were looking on Thursday.  The Bill Moyers interview of Kevin Phillips below is excellent -- and very sobering!

Some movement towards Obama this week.  He seems to be increasing his attacks on McCain.  Lots of disturbing economic news -- and Obama has been talking a lot about it with McCain trying to avoid the topic or mess it up
