Bergdahl's Case Will Have a Long Shelf Life for the GOP

Bowe Bergdahl Is the Right’s New Benghazi (Michael Tomasky) from the Daily Beast
"Buckle up: The right is going to try to turn the Taliban prisoner swap for ‘deserter’ Bowe Bergdahl into a Willie Horton moment for the president—and they’ll ride it to January 2017."
I actually suspect the stories (swirling around Bergdahl at least) will be sorted out way sooner -- although if I were Bergdahl I wouldn't like what my future is going to look like.  What's almost certain to occur is (either on the merits or from GOP political pressure) a high-profile court martial. Bergdahle will also be at the center of a hyper-political sh@# storm for the next year or so (if not longer) for reasons that have nothing to do with the merits of his case.  If the story enunciated in the New York Times investigation above is true, he stands a good chance of being found guilty.  But, as with some much of the crap that comes off the Republican fan, this all could be a big nothing.  We shall see.  Read the Times piece above to get a clearer grip on the facts as known right now (and the degree to which GOP spinmeisters are already politicizing the storyline).
