Obama Broke the Law. He Needs to Admit It (Marc Ambinder) from The Week
"There are no bones about it: In trading five Taliban detainees at Guantanamo Bay for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, President Obama willfully broke a law. ... What can Congress do? What happens if the president breaks a law like this? Nothing."
Let me say up front -- Obama knew precisely how far out on a legal limb he was with this case. Not only is he a top-flight constitutional lawyer, he certainly conferred with good lawyers before doing what he did. I'm CERTAIN that the legal foundations for his actions are there -- and that there is nothing that has happened that will warrant action by Congress, the courts or anyone else.
